Blackbox Cosmetics Little Secret Weapon Review

Best Eye Creams Blackbox Little Secret Weapon Review

So sorry I've been MIA this month. The first week of the month was spent spazzing over my upcoming Dominican Republic vacation and making sure I had all my ducks in a row. The second week, I was in Punta Cana to celebrate a friends wedding. I was going to start blogging again as soon as I got back, but my work decided to have layoffs and everything has been turmoil ever since. So, without further ado, here's a review on Blackbox Cosmetics' Little Secret Weapon.

I'll be honest: I don't really use eye creams/serums. I'll  try out samples when I get them, but they're not something I buy for myself. My regular face moisturizers for dry combination skin work just fine for me, and I've been lucky to have eye skin that's been wrinkle-resistant so far. I do have some superfine lines and one slight crinkle when I smile, but that's it. However, I get puffy eyes (thanks allergies!) and some mild dark circles from time to time, so I thought that the Little Secret Weapon would be a good product to prevent further aging and correct the other minor issues based on the description on the Blackbox Cosmetics website

"This incredible serum is designed to instantly tighten the delicate skin tissue under the eye, while reducing & removing puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. LSW has an very high concentration of hyaluronic acid, microalgae, 6 different wrinkle-reducing Peptides, Hexapeptides, & Dipeptides. These extremely effective amino acid based compounds have a fast absorption rate and the effects are often compared to botox, because they cause the skin to relax... safely and naturally. For long-term benefits, LSW is loaded with collagen building aminos, vitamins, & other age-defying compounds. There isn't another under-eye product available anywhere that is so powerful. LSW is organically preserved."

I would say Little Secret Weapon is more of a light cream than a serum. It's white in color and has a slightly creamy texture, like a light body lotion. A little goes such a long way. A quarter of a pump works for both my eyes and the annoying laugh line on the bridge of my nose (they say you can use the product wherever you have wrinkle formation as well). It's kind of amazing how little I need. Considering the product size is .5 oz, the same amount as the face serums, it's going to last me forever.

I've been using this product since February, and I haven't seen any real improvement in my fine lines or undereye circles. Perhaps mine need to be more dramatic for the serum to make a difference? I feel like every blurb I find about this product is a rave, but then again, these are coming from bloggers that got the product for free or people who are selling it. Maybe it's not just me.

That said, it is AMAZING at getting rid of puffiness. I puff up a bit when I have a dust allergy flare up. When I cry (I'm a stress/rage crier), my eyes puff up to the point where I look like I got stung in the face by a wasp. It's weird as hell. Usually, it takes hours for the swelling to go down enough for makeup to look normal, but with this product, the swelling disappears in 15-30 minutes. It's a miracle, I tell you! And for this reason alone, I will give this product a decent rating. Because omg. I can't tell you how relieved I am to be able to cry and not look like a puffer fish for 5 hours.

It's not very eye-makeup compatible (it makes mine slide right off, even with primer), so I only use it at night or on days when I don't wear makeup. It does cause some slight tingling once in a while, but other than that, I can't think of any warnings. It moisturizes well, has a pleasant fruity smell, and de-puffs my eyes like a dream.  However, since I didn't see any change in my fine lines or dark circles, I wouldn't say it lived up to its claims. Feel free to try it out, but don't go in expecting miracles. Are there really any miracle eye products out there? I have my doubts. At least this one is aloe based!
