Cosmetics Review: Lancome's Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

The Product:  Lancome's Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover

The Review: I love this stuff. So much. It's the best waterproof eye makeup remover I've ever used, because it gets off the all my waterproof eyeshadow and lip stains with almost no rubbing. Not only that, but it never stings my eyes and has the loveliest rose fragrance. I don't know why, but having that bit of rose scent makes taking off eye make-up a much more pleasant experience. Maybe it's because I love roses so much. Hmm... Anyway, if you don't use waterproof makeup, you probably won't need something as heavy duty as this. But if you do, it's pretty damn magical.

While there are quite a few imitation products on the market that are much cheaper, I keep coming back to this one because it smells so nice and outperforms the rest. When I was in college, I had to wear hard-core, insane stage makeup for operas, and this product managed to easily remove even the most caked-on, waterproof makeup. It never fails to impress me. I do, however, have only 2 critiques of this product. Firstly, it claims it doesn't have residue, but it does. To avoid that slightly oily feeling, use it before washing your face. Secondly, it's a little overpriced. I mean, it's a make-up remover. There's no reason it should cost so much when you can get really similar products for a fraction of the cost. On the plus side, Sephora and Lancome often give free samples of it, and it comes with every single Lancome gift-with-purchase, so you can get it through that route if you don't want to shell out the $26 for just the remover.

If you never buy Lancome and want some alternative products that work just as well, Clinique's Take the Day Off Make-up Remover is almost as good. Neutrogena's Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover is a really cheap alternative, but it's a bit more drying and stings a little if you accidentally get some in your eye. Just to warn you.
