Cosmetics Review: Estee Lauder's Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Sugar Honey

The Product: Estee Lauder's Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Sugar Honey

The Review: I have a giant lipstick collection. It's kind of funny, because I don't wear lipstick all that often. Which is why it lasts me FOREVER. I have naturally pinky lips anyway, and I'm usually too lazy in the morning to go hunting through my purse/makeup pile to find my favorite lipsticks when I have lip balm on hand. However, when I have time and don't have to worry about potentially kissing people, I do love a good lipstick. Hence, the sizable lipstick collection.

I love Estee Lauder's Long Lasting Lipsticks, because they always smell nice: fruity, without being overpowering or having that gross clay/plastic smell some lipsticks have (I hate that smell!). They also don't dry out my lips as much as other long-lasting brands, which I appreciate, and can survive the work day with few reapplications. If you aren't eating or drinking much during the day, it lasts quite a while and doesn't make your lips feel gross and chapped after a couple hours. It also has a pretty nice consistency and has a slight hint of shine without being too much. Personally, I think this is one of the best lipsticks I've tried for everyday office wear.

This line has quite a nice selection of colors. Sugar Honey is my go-to color for warm  makeup looks, because it's a really pretty pinky, rose-gold color that is pretty close to my natural lip color. Just with more... gold. (Yeah, I'm eloquent. My brain has been fried by customer service calls today, so don't judge me.) Personally, I think everyone needs to have a couple utility lipsticks for their day-to-day makeup looks, and this one is the one I use whenever I choose to use golds, browns, and greens for my eyes. It's also subtle enough to wear with dramatic smokey eyes and even transitions well between seasons.Yay, versatility!

On the downside, I think they might actually be a bit overscented for people with scent-allergies. I have scent allergies which are triggered by floral scents and, since this has a fruity scent, it doesn't bother me. However, I can definitely see it bothering others.

  1. I am always looking for new lipsticks, because unlike you my lips are not pinky naturally. Fruit scented ones are even better!!!
